Twain Centre Plans Unveiled

Work on the ultimate Shania-fan-paradise, the Shania Twain
Interpretive Centre is now underway in Timmins, Ontario
Canada and the Timmins city councilors had their first chance
to take a look at the Centre's plans Monday night. Construction
on the $11-million project is expected to be complete by
July 2001 (Mark your calendars!) and will include a 4,000-square-foot
exhibit space on Shania, a 1,200-square-foot traveling exhibit
space and a 1,000-square-foot retail area. As previously
mentioned in the shania.net News, the new Interpretive Centre
will house over a $1-million worth in memorabilia including
awards and clothing donated by Shania. Stay tuned to shania.net

Best Selling Album of All Time

You've probably heard that Shania's "Come On Over" album
was just certified for sales exceeding 17 million making
"Come On Over" the best selling album by a female artist
and country artist ever but did you know her album is 7th
on the all time sales list? According to the Recording Industry
Association of America there are only 6 other albums that
have sold more copies then Shania's.
Come On Over Hits 17 Million!
- That's
right, Shania's record breaking "Come On Over" album has
now surpassed sales of over 17 million copies! With that
extraordinary mark Shania now holds the record for the best
selling album by a female artist (any genre) passing Alanis
Morrisette's "Jagged Little Pill" and best selling album
by any country artist passing Garth Brook's "No Fences"
album! On the subject of Shania's new records, the president
of Mercury Nashville had this to say: Shania's commitment
to excellence has inspired us all to be better at what we
do. The most gratifying thing for me is to see her exemplary
artistry, talent and hard work being rewarded by finding
a place in the history books."

- Fellow country diva Faith Hill's
favorite duet partner is her husband Tim McGraw but she
says there are three other stars she'd consider recording
with. After Tim, her first choice is Martina McBride; she'd
also like to sing with Shania and pop diva Mariah Carey.
Maybe we'll see a Shania/Faith duet, what a combo that would
be!
