ISLAMABAD:
President Muhammad Rafiq Tarar on Saturday expressed
profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Melody
Queen Noor Jahan. In his condolence message to the
daughter of the deceased, the president said Noor
Jahan's death brings to end an era of singing. He
said her patriotic songs would long be remembered
by the countrymen. The Chief Executive General Pervaiz
Musharraf on Saturday expressed his heart-felt grief
over the demise of Melody Queen and a legendary
singer Madam Noor Jehan. In his message the chief
executive said the vacuum created by her death in
the field of music will never be filled. He said,
she rose to the dizzying heights of music and dominated
the stage for decades. She was a true Pakistani
and sang some memorable patriotic songs, which would
ever remain in the hearts of the people.

away here today, after a protracted illness. She
